Well, it is
that time of year again to get ready for Vancouver’s
annual Hellenic Cultural Week
June
16th-June 25th 2006.
During the final day (June 25th 2006), 5 blocks of West
Broadway in the Kitsilano area will be
transformed
into a little piece of Greece for the Vancouver Greek Day
Festival.
Joanna would
like to invite YOU to come down and be Greek for a day,
and enjoy festivities that
include
Street Entertainers, a free Children’s Zone, live cooking
shows, all the Greek and/or
Mediterranean food you can eat, traditional dancing, and
of course, no Greek Day would be
complete
without a Greek Concert.

Joanna is now putting the final
touches on her second full album “JR2”, and will
announce the
exact release date very soon.
Due to unforeseen events, JR2 Records had to postpone a
couple of recordings and therefore
Joanna’s album.

clothing line “Timeless”.
As
mentioned before, be prepared for a big surprise,
because Joanna’s clothing line is
“slightly different”.
Of course, the most
anticipated project is her upcoming CD release “JR2”,
which Joanna simply
describes as
“a mix of all
that I am”.
“I loved recording “All
That’s Missing”, but
working on “JR2” has taught me so many new things.
I’ve been working
very
closely with Pim,
my producer on this album, he taught me so much, he let me
re-discover myself,
experiment with my own differences;
I’ll be forever
thankful for that.”
This is Joanna’s second
full length album, with 14 new tracks and 4 Bonus tracks.

If you had the pleasure of attending the very memorable
Joanna Rader concert last night at
“Stars On Broadway”,
you would no doubt agree she is one to watch for in the
years to come.
The moment you walked in the front door, you felt the warm
atmosphere inviting you to take a
set and relax. With a
candle on every table, you were soon greeted by the
friendly staff at
“Stars On Broadway” and soon found a
delicious meal set before you. Joanna even made
herself
available to greet many as they took there seats.
The show starts off with a brief introduction of
Joanna’s origins and then dives right into the music.
The full 4 piece band is comprised of
very talented musicians from diverse backgrounds.
They include:
Victor Yong-Guitars\Music
Director, Vladimir Lazic- Keyboards,
Luis Garzon Bass, and David DiTomaso- Drums\Percussion.
Joanna charmed the audience with her comfortable stage
presence and inviting personality.
As you listened to each
song, you had the sense that each was sung as though it
were her favorite.
And, as with any live performance, you
got to hear more of a “rock” flavor then what is typically
heard on her albums. The energy and passion in her voice
reached each one in attendance.
It wasn’t difficult to
spot many hands and feet tapping along to the rhythm of
each song.
There were even some who would sing along to
there favorites like “Falling For An Angel” or
“All That’s
Missing”. One would think she does this kind of show every
night. Thankfully the
stage was large enough to display
such a strong show of talent by, not only Joanna Rader,
but the Band as well. With only knowing each other a short
time, they were able to play with
the unity that would
lead most to doubt that this was their first concert
together.
The evening was made up of two balanced sets that included
a mixture of songs from
several projects. Songs from her
first album “All That’s Missing” connected with fans that
have come to love her style of singing. Joanna was also
able to introduce us to her Greek
heritage with songs from
her EP “Back To The Roots”. The show also gave everyone a
sneak peek at a few songs from her up and coming album
“JR2” that is set to be released
in the summer of 2005.
And just to add a little extra bonus, Joanna performed
some of her
favorite cover songs from artists like Marc
Anthony, Sade, Madonna, and Shania Twain.
Those in attendance were also treated to new acoustic
versions of “What A Fool”,
“All That’s Missing”, and
“Falling For An Angel”. Victor Yong showed remarkable
talent with
playing the complex melodies with ease.
Joanna’s style of introducing the band to the audience was
refreshing. Following the name
of every band member, was a
unique instrumental solo showcasing the skill of each
musician
during the cover song “No Ordinary Love” by Sade.
After proudly showing their talent, the
reactions from the
crowd conveyed there enjoyment of the evenings
performance.
As the night came to a close, Joanna ended her 25 song
concert with heartfelt thanks for
those who were able to
attend. She expressed her wish to see them all again at
future
performances and then said good night. Appreciative
fans approached the stage and
began handing her several
bouquets of flowers that she graciously accepted with
a brief hug.
Several fans were able to obtain autographed copies of
her first album “All That’s Missing”
and have stated their desire to hear
the next album, “JR2”. As everyone collected their
coats,
Joanna once again was available for
quick good byes as everyone made their way to the door.
As everyone in attendance that night
would tell you, you have not seen the last of Joanna
Rader
and her Band. It was truly a night to
remember.

(Tomorrow Keeps Me Alive) has
introduced Joanna to new opportunities.
She is currently recording a 5 Song EP in Greek, which
will be released in Greece in
March, 2005. Although the songs are
all in Greek, Joanna Rader fans will recognize
her blend of heartfelt ballades, filled with emotions
and catchy up-beat tunes with a
twist. You don't have to know or to be Greek to enjoy
her upcoming songs, which
will also be available online.
Because of the unexpected change of plans, Joanna needs to
postpone her
upcoming album "JR2" until
Spring 2005.
JR2Records and Joanna would like to apologize to all the
fans who have been
waiting for the new album.

spending almost four weeks in Greece promoting the Greek

spending almost two weeks in Germany promoting the two
club mixes from
the title track.She will be returning back
to Vancouver by mid September.
